Stilson's Financial Template Workshop

Learn how to use the Stilson’s Financial Template to create financial statements for your business plan. Follow up support is available through the SBDC to personalize the template for your business.

Crazy Idea Day

Students and adults will join together to attend a fast-paced, high-energy morning of brainstorming ideas using a series of activities that are designed to not only help solve problems and develop creative ideas, but to challenge the way we look at problems to inspire more innovative solutions.
It's FREE and YOU are invited!
This workshop is designed to help people learn to generate, vet, and collaborate on ideas…ideas for products, for businesses and to solve social problems. There will be some theory and lots of fun practice generating ideas that result in cool stuff and tangible improvements in the world.

The Extreme Entrepreneurship Tour is bringing America’s top young entrepreneurs to Humboldt. Speakers at this FREE event are young entrepreneurs under the age of 30 who’ve made, earned and sold their company for millions and made a huge impact. Join us for two keynote speakers, a dream-action workshop, entrepreneurs’ panel, lunch and an entrepreneur marketplace.

Finalist teams 1-4 will give a formal presentation followed by a question and answer session with the panel of judges.

This is the culmination of the 2011 competition with $117,000 awarded to the winning teams.

Elevator Pitch Practice Session
Tuesday, March 22nd, 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., HSU
Teams have the opportunity to practice their elevator pitches with local Toastmasters who provide advice and feedback.
Elevator Pitch Presentations & Showcase Exhibits
Thursday, March 24th, Showcase Exhibits: 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Judged Elevator Pitch Presentations: 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Kate Buchanan Room, HSU
Competitors have two minutes to pitch their business idea in the first judged round of Economic Fuel. Teams also have the opportunity to display a showcase exhibit on the night of the pitches.

Partnership Agreement Workshop
Wednesday, February 16th, 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., Prosperity Center - 520 E St., Eureka
Discover WHO needs a partnership agreement, WHAT should be included, WHY they are necessary and HOW to create this important document. New this year, businesses competing in Economic Fuel with two or more owners are required to submit a legally binding partnership agreement. Sandy Neal of the North Coast SBDC will present.
