Community & Economic Development courses are not-for-credit classes offered in addition to College of the Redwoods' academic program. One of the two areas served is Business and Professional training programs which provide job-related seminars and customized training. Many classes are offered online, after normal business hours and on the weekends to respond to the needs of the business community.

The North Coast Small Business Development Center is proud to continue its support of the Economic Fuel competition. Since the founding of Economic Fuel the SBDC has offered professional business counseling and workshops to competitors, both in the competition phase and in the business launch process. The staff and counselors look forward to working with this year’s participants and to help them get their businesses launched.

Arcata Economic Development Corporation was created in 1978 by a group of Arcata business and community leaders to help grow the city's economy through assistance to local businesses and homeowners.
AEDC's Small Business Lending Center finances small businesses in a six county area of Northern California. We have loan funds available from several sources, including the SBA, the USDA, the Headwaters Funds and the Old Growth Diversification Fund.

Under the umbrella of the Rising Stars Foundation - Young Entrepreneurs Fund, we will be working to inspire students in entrepreneurial pursuits.
